For arts organisations

Websites for arts organisations

For theatres, choirs, orchestras, galleries and festivals. Describe yours and get a finished website in about a minute, with your programme, your photos and links to your box office, in a look that's your own.

What's included

What an arts organisation's website needs

  • What's on, with ticket links

List performances, exhibitions and workshops with dates, times and venues, each linking to your box office, whether that's TicketSource, Eventbrite or Ticket Tailor.

  • Photos that do your work justice

Galleries with captions, focus points so faces stay in frame, and suggested descriptions for every image. We pick your brand colour from your best picture.

  • A look that's yours

Start from three different looks, then choose from any open-source typeface, add your logo and set your brand colours.

  • How to join, clearly

Auditions, rehearsal times and what to expect at a first visit, set out step by step, with a way to get in touch.

  • Friends and supporters

Point supporters to your Friends scheme or donation page, with suggested amounts and Gift Aid wording.

  • The legal details, handled

Whether you're a charity, a CIC or a company, the footer shows the statement for your legal form, for you to check. Privacy, cookie and accessibility statements are drafted from what's on your site.

Tickets

Your box office stays where it is

Most arts organisations already sell tickets through a box office they know. Each event on your site links straight to the booking page, so you keep the same provider, the same fees and the same reports.

When a season ends, you update the programme by asking ("add our spring concert") or by hand, and nothing changes in public until you press Publish.

Questions

Questions arts organisations ask

Can we sell tickets through the site?

Each event links to your existing box office, such as TicketSource, Eventbrite or Ticket Tailor. We don't run a ticketing system ourselves.

Can we show past productions and exhibitions?

Yes. Add a page for past seasons with photos and dated updates, and keep your current programme on the home page.

We're a CIC, not a charity. Does that matter?

No. The footer statement is built from your legal form, so a CIC, a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity each get the right details for you to check.

Where do we put access information for our venue?

Your site's accessibility statement covers the website itself. We'd suggest a page on venue access too, such as step-free routes, seating and relaxed or captioned performances. Tell the assistant what your venue offers and it will write the page from those facts.

What does it cost?

We're open by invitation while we work closely with a small group of organisations. When we open up, there will be a free plan and paid plans for those who need more.

Digital Society is also for charities and community groups.

Ready when you are

We're opening up to a few organisations at a time. Request an invite, or sign in if you've had one.
